Candy Cane Lane

Akin to a Santa Shop, Candy Cane Lane gives students the opportunity to shop privately for their friends and family in a safe, controlled environment.

Candy Cane Lane is a special time of year for SSDI students. Typically held the first week in December, students look forward to their very own private holiday shopping venue. For some of them, it is the only time/way for them to buy surprise gifts for their family.

Candy Cane Lane is hosted on campus. Assistant shoppers help students manage their money while purchasing for a list of people pre-approved by the student’s caregiver. Each item in the shop costs a flat rate of $4. Volunteer helper elves wrap and label the gifts for each student.
